President Retired of the United Republic of Tanzania of the Fourth Phase, Dr. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete has sent a greeting greetings to the Zanzibar national team (Zanzibar Heroes) after finishing CECAFA 2017 final.
Zanzibar Heroes triumphed final after holding 2-1 champion champion champion Uganda's championship at the CECAFA Senior Challenge semi-finals held at the Moi Stadium in Kisumu, Kenya.
"I congratulate Zanzibar Heroes for giving us a smile and ending the final. I want all the best in the final match to look at the cup and give us the comfort that Tanzanians have missed for a long time ", writes Dr. Kikwete on his Twitter web page.
However, Zanzibar Heroes will play a final match on Sunday against Kenyan residents. In the continent Tanzania's main continent was represented by the Kilimanjaro Stars team which did not work well after being removed from group action with just one mark.
